If you had to verify insurance, valid license and current license plates prior to driving I bet it would lessen bad drivers being on road. Why can’t cars computers do that? They upload data now. And no, you can’t tell computer to opt out.
You want to have to remove your tags to show the cars camera and then reinstall it, show proof of ins and your DL inorder to be able to drive your own vehicle??? That has to be a joke right???
You want to have to scan the bar code on your drivers license to start the car?
I suppose the tech to do that is already there. In theory, the facial recognition camera could scan your face, the telematics comm unit could link to the state department of licensing and see if your license and registration is current, and insurers could be required to maintain a real-time database of whether you’ve paid your premiums or not.
You would have to have an opt-out function. Many vehicles are driven where no license or registration or insurance is needed.
