I just got a 1988 Chevy S10 pickup. It takes a few tries to start it up when the engine is cold, but it starts eventually; however, if it has been driven recently - even a short distance - it will not start at all.
I have confounded one mechanic so far, who has replaced the fuel pump and computer, and tried “everything.”
Does anyone out there have a quirky old Chevy truck that can enlighten me as to what might be the problem?
have you tried replacing the relay and have you checked voltage at fuel pump?
What makes you think that it is a fuel problem? Have you sprayed Starter Fluid (ether) into the air intake and tried to start it? Results?
Have you check for spark?
