What does it mean when the heating light comes on
I am going to make the assumption this light is a warning light for engine overheating rather than having something to do with your climate control.
This warning light is serious business. You should pull over immediately and shut off the engine. Do not operate again until the engine cools down. Driving with an overheated condition risks cooking the engine and causing permanenet damage.
The cause and cure may be relatively simple and inexpensive. First you should check the level of coolant (antifreeze) in the reservoir. If it is low, fill up. That may be all that’s necessary.
Otherwise you may have to replace the thermostat, an inexpensive item.
