Has anyone seen this reported on the media?

Wedge issues continue to be the crux of the problem and in my little corner of the world honest, well meaning people seem to find themselves attracted to the Fox political pundits like the children following the Pied Piper. An anti-abortion proposal was on the state’s most recent ballot and 43% voted for it. Most voters, in fact, seemed to want such legislation but a great many understood the effort was symbolic and passage would be costly for the state. Most GOP candidates throughout the state voiced their support for the anti-abortion cause that was at fever pitch due to the proposition and won several contested seats. We now have Republicans in both houses and in the governor’s mansion and they would like us to think they have things under control. But behind closed doors I can imagine that they are composing some speeches that make excuses for them and blame all the problems on the President… Politics is the best entertainment ever devised.

"Has someone seen this story reported on “television?” "

Ha ha Ha…Television is a joke…The old TV news organizations are long gone, their foreign offices closed years ago…The few good newspapers left are hanging on by their fingernails, their staffs greatly reduced…

Spam filters…Ah yes…Enjoy those “Free” E-mail accounts…

Know this…If there is ever a SERIOUS civil uprising or ANY event that involves nuclear weapons, the entire internet goes own and it stays down. That’s a given. Again, if it’s SERIOUS, the GPS goes down too…

Rod, you make some good points…The term wedge issue is itself a divisive term design to consolidate the support of each’s followers. As I have stated, most people when left alone, agree more then what is politically expediant for either side.

“Wedge issues continue to be the crux of the problem…”

Sadly, everything is a wedge issue these days. Is there anything that republicans and democrats can agree on? I don’t recall the last time anything passed the House and Senate without great difficulty, and most things die in transition between the two houses of Congress. There are fewer centrists these days; so many far left and far right representatives can’t do much of anything together except argue. 30 years ago the extreme elements could frame an argument, then the pragmatic centrists of both parties could negotiate something that the majority centrist groups on both sides could live with. Now, the mechanism for a functioning Congress doesn’t exist. Don’t expect a settlement this next week by the supercommittee “working” on a debt solution. These people simply do not know how to work together. It seems like it’s all or nothing for both sides. And that means nothing good for any of us.

If they didn’t hold a “public office” they would have to go out and get a real job…Unthinkable…

Did Yahoo ever give a reasonable excuse for blocking the e-mail regarding the OWS protests? The crowds have waned considerably and there never was much spotlight on them by any media.
