Hail to the Chief!

I’ve played at Sebago Lake…and Kebo Valley up in Bar Harbor…

It was a state prison in Massachusetts. It was all over the papers up here. I don’t know a single person who wasn’t outraged. Here’s an opinion commentary on it from the Boston Globe.

http://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2012/09/05/judge-ruling-prisoner-sex-change-operation-matter-principle/uyBEXdIlZ9k5EtPZBnQo7L/story.html

Mass has some unusual policies…

You can retire from a state job in MA…then continue working at that same job collecting full pay. So you collect your full pay AND collect full retirement benefits. Amazing…

Good courses. Bangor Muni 27 hole course is one of the best deals going. A very good course that offers rates as low as $10 per nine holes and $18 for 18 tee off before 11 am. I would have joined there last year but it’s cheaper to pay their green fees and belong elsewhere if you like variety. It would be worth a trip to play there too.

Same, sometimes I wonder what we have judges for(we hold these truths to be self evident) these “Kangaroo courts” are something to behold.Would they put “her” in awomans prison after the operation?,ridiculous-Kevin

@dagosa - There use to be a course in Bangor that only had 15 holes (or some weird number like that). I heard that the finally expanded to 18.

Kevin, to my way of thinking they should put “it” in a kennel. In truth, I wondered that myself, but none of the papers addressed that question.

I don’t know what to say about taxpayers footing the bill for gender reassignment for someone who will never see the outside, except there are many areas that are slippery slopes. Once you start going down a particular path, you can justify almost anything at some point. Its not necessarily a bad thing to try and turn the clock back a little and start leaning the system out a little. Seems to be a crowd that can be found to both give new rights and take away rights depending on the subject. If that makes any sense.

Gender “reassignment” is over the line bizarre in my judgement and it is outrageous that Massachusetts would consider paying for such an ridiculous indulgence.

It’s scarier even when you read into it, that he is to live in a male institution as a female. Maybe the federal judge thought that as a convicted wife murderer, what more appropriate punishment could there be then bear the brunt of daily assaults. Next, he’ll want the right to carry a weapon to defend himself. Where will it end ? IMO, most of his rights stopped at the prison door.

Your rights stop at drones authorized to kill American Citizens.

or the right to detain US citizens indefinitely without trial.

No wonder there are so many detention centers being built

Scary
Until you look at the alternative. We should loose 6000 lives to try invade and have face to face capture in countries we have no legal authority to be in ? These were American citizens but not by choice. You conspire to kill your fellow citizens for being citizens, you give up a lot of rights. They can easily avoid assassination; return to America or friendly nation and try to hide there or give them selves up and stand trial.
Anyone with a better idea on how to deal with terroists, without a country of origin should immediately write their congressman with that solution. The difference between the last administration and this is…we know what is going on and we complain and we actually get a response.

What part of if you are an US citizen you can be assassinated by drones without due justice or locked up indefinitely without trial? It is about the fundamentals our country was founded on being subverted.

So, you’re an American citizen but not by choice, join a terrorist organization whose main purpose is kill Americans and you flee the country and take up residence in a terrorist supported enclave. You get special treatment from your cohorts by birthright ? . All you need do is hide in a friendly nation or go home to get the justice you deserve. So, what is YOUR solution ? I have long held that you stop terrorism by cutting off the head of the snake. If the snake is a citizen in the US or friendly nation that the US is allowed to arrest suspects in , you are protected…you hide amoung terrorists, you are not. It’s really that simple if you read the three conditions of drone use. It has my support regardless of who’s president.

Halliburton is to be believed ? The company that routinely bilked millions out of the US tax payer by sending empty supply trucks back and forth on known routes of violence that lead to death and injury to driver’s and military guards. This done to collect delivery fees which were never made. All this is the tip of the iceberg in their ongoing collection schemes on contracts made with the Bush administration to keep collecting tax payer dollars as long as possible. Please read your own reference…lEnd Game is a Bush Cheney scheme…Huliburton profited by it…2006. How many prisoners are actually there or is the intent to blame Obama for a Bush fiasco…like the economy.

Even your reference, if you read the whole thing, says that Obama did not believe in the process, but only by putting his signature on it could it be adjudicated legally.

OK I am an American citizen not by choice because I was born to US citizens in the US, and now if I join whatever cause maybe Greenpeace I can be denied all rights because I am deemed a terrorist threat? If you are a citizen you deserve the right to a fair and speedy trial, not to be assassinated by decree.

Barkydog,
You are making up your own scinerios. Please read the basic rules of drone use for assassination. It does me no good to keep responding if you havn’t read them. I’ll find a copy if you would like.

You obviously missed my previous post YOU SAY “It does ME no good to keep responding if you have not read them” your fail not mine

I read it…Guess you didn’t read my responses. Do you understand the federal ruling that a policeman can shoot a fleeing suspect, if he “feels” they may be a threat to citizens. Under the drone use guidelines, if a citizen is an evidential terrorist and flees to a place that the United states cannot apprehend him without significant loss of life, you are now subject to drone attack. I did not know that members of Greenpeace were on the official list of terrorist organizations, like al Qaeda and took up residence in Pakistan. How would you suggest we deal with them…unless you think it’s ok to let them live and not the Saudie Citizen breaking bread next to him. I read our references more then you did I believe.

What part of Leaked Obama Memo Shows Assassination of US Citizens "Has No Geographic Limit"
If greenpeace is determined a terrorist group then what? Detention without trial and drones to kill them. us?

That’s right, if they are a terrorist threat and if we can’t apprehend them without undo loss of life, they get executed WITHOUT due process…just like Bush killed 100, ooo plus Iraqi non combatant civilians, mostly women and children while invading a Country he thought at some time in the future just might give WMD to al Qaida. All while killing 6000 of our own troops and wounding 10s of thousands others. So the rights of a citizen terrorist who hides in places with others will loose rights as they have in countries like Pakistan and Yemen ? Do we have another solution ?

Also…utube “Obama’s secrete drone war explained by Reuter’s” is an excellent overview that
Address many of your concerns. But, it puts it in perspective relative to Bush’s approach to ground invasions to capture terrorist leaders. It’s an approach you either agree or disagree with but…Remember this…

All of our freinds both republican and democrat on the appropriate over sight committe have been passing on these assassinanations in general without specific involvement. Only when the memo became public do we have prevarication. This is a Repbulican and Democrat joint effort on the Congressional level in committee. Let’s just keep that in mind ! To CYA their political butts, they now ask for specific oversight on specific targets.

If members of Greenpeace are determined to be an imminent threat, flee the country to an area where it would take undo loss of life to apprehend in countries like Pakistan…yes, they loose their rights. You worry about Green peace, I’ll worry about al Qaida.
