The “Kids” are 15 - 19 years old. Also, make sure you’re looking at the musical lyrics, not the movie lyrics. A lot was cleaned up. “A Real Draggin’ Wagon” “The Chicks Will Dream” have been substituted for their racier counterparts.
We have a “Street Carnival” lined up similar to the movie. We have a classic car club coming to set up their cars (in a roped off area) so people can see. There will also be inflatable rides for the kids, food vendors, and 50s music playing outdoors. We’re teaming up with a local Sonic Drive-In to have their employees dress up in 50s clothing for the night of the show and the first two nights. The kids are all high school and 1st year college students.
What the kids (15 - 19 years old) will learn is artistic lisence. They didn’t audition for the show to learn about cars (although with your help I will tell them that the terminology is “bogus”). Part of being a performer is knowing your character. Obviously the person spewing out these bogus lyrics doesn’t know so much about cars, as he does about using redundant phrases.
Thanks for your help.
