The water from our new refrigerator was foul when it was installed. I thought it was the original copper line that was disconnected from the fridge for a year. The other feed lines were in the refrigerator and the new one that the installers put in. I replaced the copper line with a 16 foot line from the home goods store and it tasted the same. I attached a new line to the copper line and pulled it through the floor. I had to do a little cutting and pounding to get the connectors through, but it worked, barely. Then I connected the new line to the refrigerator and the water tasted great. It turns out the bad flavor was from the line the appliance store installed.
