Like the cap bit broke off the stem. I used the old head because I wasn’t sure if the new one would be damaged and the original motor still had a good head out side of 2 ever so slightly bent exhaust valves that I replaced. You couldn’t even fit a fingernail under the valve it was such a slight bend.
