Failure experience rates on rebuilt caliper

You're missing the point - no way to get this confidential or nonexistent data. Sure it'd be nice to know but there's no practical way to know it.

EXACTLY. The data either does NOT exist or it’s company confidential.

It’s not a matter of not wanting the data…it’s a matter of gathering RELIABLE data in the first place. So far I’ve yet to see how one would go about doing that. The only way I can see you getting this data is from mechanics. And you’d need a very large sample rate (several thousand) to get reliable data. You think a mechanic is going to spend time filling out paperwork or entering information into a system?? Not unless you pay them. Sorry…still not buying it.

I’m also very skeptical of the 30% failure rate. That seems awfully high. And @Rod Knox is correct…any parts store that had a 30% failure rate in ANYTHING would stop selling that product. It’s costing them too much in handling fees.

I’ve owned 6 cars over the last 30 years, and replaced the calipers one time.
I bought them from a chain auto parts store and one of the two dragged.
So I returned it the next day and got a free replacement.
That makes my personal failure rate 50%. Statistically it means next to nothing.

I don’t think there’s a market for failure data on replacement auto parts.
All people want is a decent warranty.
