I have a '94 manual 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder. The car begins to shake violently when driving through a curve on the highway. The front end of the car shakes and the steering wheel as well. It feels like the tires are going to fall off. It does not happen all the time and it does not matter which direction the turn is. I took the car into the shop and they told me my steering collumn froze up. The part that froze up looked like a mini U-joint. It was replace and it started again.
Any ideas of what this might be. I’m calling the shop back after the holiday weekend.
There are more worn, or loose, parts in the steering linkage. This would allow one, or both, wheels to flop side to side when in a turn.
