1998 Honda Accord LX, the enginee stalls while I was braking at stop sign or traffic light. It happens often although I can restart the enginee right way without any problem.
Does it idle ok if you’re not using the brakes? What happens if you just sit at idle and apply the brake? Or, in other words, is it specifically connected to braking itself?
If so then you likely have a large leak in your brake booster. If not, then that opens up a number of other possibilities.
And check the vacuum hose to the brake booster for leaks!
Is this an automatic transmission? Does this happen only while slowing to a stop (not if you just idle, and then apply the brakes)?
If you can answer yes to both questions, the transmission might not be downshifting soon enough to avoid stalling.
