Emergency brakes do not work when I pull the lever. Brake tech. says brake cables probably have corrosion inside “sleeve” which houses the moving wire inside that connects to the rear brakes.
Suggestions trying to get some lubrication or rust-breaker oil inside the sleeve. Looking for suggestions on how to get the oil in the sleeve or other ways to fix this. Thanks.
Parking brake cables can stretch and slacken over time. That’s why there’s provisions to adjust the slack out of the parking brake cable. The adjustment for yours is at the parking brake lever. Remove the center console, and you’ll find a threaded rod with a nut that adjusts out the slack in the cable.
