Embarrassing car trouble.

You most likely flooded it if you did that .

Well things WERE better but right now I’m struggling again… the thing is I can’t really just go buy a new car…

Any tips on how to feel less embarrassed?

This might be a function of your age.
I find that many “younger” people are very self-conscious about… virtually everything.
As we age, we usually don’t particularly care about other people’s opinions of our appearance, or even about other factors.

At my age, I couldn’t give a rat’s patootie about other people’s opinions of my clothing, my choice of vehicle, or any other choices that I make.

That sounds like it makes sense. My, my car not starting and my state of dress was mortifying… I know it shouldn’t be but… it was

Hmmm, you might be surprised at how many people just don’t notice or care. See VDC’s post on missing wife.

I cannot bestow confidence or a Zen-like attitude upon you, but I can offer you these two videos:

I dunno but that Greenfield conduit on the wall outlet is not very zen. Hope they ran a separate ground wire. Oh it’s jut prolly a prop. Actually that was one of my favorite shows. I don’t see it on the old shows schedule though. I think the media could help a little in this time of peril by just running some of these old favorites to help entertain folks in their basements.

It’s streaming on Netflix.

Maybe it’s BX or better yet MC. My Dad’s house had BX everywhere including basement and it met code.

Hi kid, I think you probably looked great with or without a bra; just be confident with yourself-when you go out without a bra use a top that doesn’t need one and you will feel fine. You might get a book on how cars work or take a class at a junior college so you’re more informed on how they work and how to trouble shoot the common stuff. A used book store might even have a book on your car type. Good luck kid.

Sounds like you were low on gas, came to a fast stop. The remaining fuel sloshed to the front of the tank. Air was sucked into the fuel line so the engine stalled from lack of fuel. Eventually the fuel line refilled and the fuel system was restored and the engine started, and I don’t believe the whole story.

On that era car, bouncing in the seat while trying to start it definitely helps. Probably what did it.

But, it might not be advisable when the driver is not wearing a bra, as in the case of the OP.

I’m sorry!
The Devil made me type that.

You beat me to it. That was exactly what I was thinking but hadn’t formulated quite how to express it yet.

Great minds think alike…

Which part of the story do you not believe? I find it all believable.

Well there was an awful lot of talk of underwear which was a little unusual. Maybe if someone was in their pajamas or something it would be more embarrassing. My mom used to do that when taking my dad to work in the wee morning hours, so I could see that part. Being fixated on underwear though was a little unnecessary.

I’m sorry. Allow me to rephrase the question:

@Jerome_Silverman, which part of the story do you not believe?

I do, too, but…
