thank you,ok4450,caddyman,joemario,tardis,and circuitsmith,for all your info on the egr valve on the 1997 nissan pickup.it run great no rattling on acceleration.drive like alway.just that check engine light code po 402.that driving me crazy.
If you are going to continue with the EGR clogged or otherwise not working, then I suggest that you get a code scanner and check for codes every so often. Otherwise, you won’t know if some more serious and unrelated problem is detected (because the light is always on).
Usually you can spoof the sensor at the EGR connector and make the CEL go out…You will need a wiring diagram…
