Eco-friendly in Alaska

Again, vodka freezes.

RE: Alaskan caller/windshield washer fluid.

  1. I realize that ethylene glycol is a sweet poison, but doesn’t the methyl alcohol evaporate and become a non-factor in polluting the groundwater and soil?
  2. If the washer fluid container IS re-configured to fit inside the passenger compartment (as you suggested) and that container is enclosed in a sort of hollow jacket that is filled with a RADIATOR antifreeze and water mix… would or would not that prevent the windshield fluid from freezing? (I’ll split the profits with you two guys: 75-5-3.)

How about a paradigm shift. If he’s so concerned about it, disconnect the washer. We never had them until about 1958 and got along ok then. Everybody kept a towel in their cars to clean the windshield. How many other cars can there be in Alaska to splash on your windshield anyway.

They don’t sell those gallon bottles of blue windshield-cleaning liquid in AK?
