What are the pros and cons of Graphite powder Vs Sewing machine oil as lubricant for door locks and ignition?
Any type of oil attracts dust/dirt and can gum up the lock.
Graphite doesn’t do that.

Forget the sewing machine oil. Get “door lock lubricant “. Lowe’s sells one by DuPont that works for me.
Good advice so far but I have used everything that was available wherever I was and never had a problem. An abused lock mechanism would probably outlast the rest of a car that was given average maintenance.
The sewing machine oil will get thick when cold, the graphite won’t.
