Do You think I should go for a car note?

@MikeInNH. I retired almost 9 years ago and I don’t think data structures is currently in the curriculum. In addition to the topics you mentioned, we did binary search trees and hash tables. One course I really liked was computer simulation. This course had been taught by my department chair. He became ill with cancer and couldn’t continue. He called me into his office the last day he he was able to come into work, gave me the textbook and said, "I think this is where I am in the course. I had never taught the course. I hid out in my study carrel in the library to figure out a plan to teach the course. I spent the weekend learning Visual SLAM, the software used for the course. My department chair passed away a couple of weeks after I took over his class. Ironically, the department brought in a new chair from outside the university. The new chair died of cancer a year and a half later. My colleagues tried to draft me into being chair, but I refused. I figured that they were trying to get rid of me. The extra money would have been great, but my 21 year old 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass was still running well , so I didn’t need the money for a newer car.
I didn’t like the idea of being a boss or a manager. I decided I would rather have less money, drive an old car and do what I really liked doing, teaching and research, than shuffle papers and attend numerous meetings.
