Anyone with only a cursory understanding of things mechanical in general and automobiles in particular will have a difficult time asking relevant questions regarding automobile problems and if/when someone can make a SWAG at the problem and recommend a procedure to confirm their guess the OP would often be unable to understand the instructions. Of course there are those secret, insiders only tricks that professionals use to empty the pockets of the unsuspecting car owners. You regulars know what I mean. Wink, wink. Nod, nod. And those on line insider sites are loaded with all the insider secrets, don’t you know.

I learned that sites like these publish root cause of event for specific vehicle.
I have access to Identifix and other on-line auto repair information sites.
What are the other on-line auto repair information sites?
Thanks for sharing.
I subscribe to Mitchell on Demand, but have free access to AllData thru where the son works.

I prefer Mitchell on Demand over AllData.
I subscribed to AllData years ago, but it didn’t go into as much depth and detail as Mitchell on Demand.
I would never use AllData if I had to pay for it.
