Dealing with delivery robots

Cars could easily crush one of these little machines, but it appears that cyclists (and pedestrians?) might not be so lucky when it comes to encounters with these devices.

He’s going to win that case… and win BIG.

This is just one more unaware vehicle using the bike lanes and sidewalks causing problems.

A woman in CA was indicted on involuntary homicide charges for letting her 14 year old son ride an electric motorcycle. Her son hit and killed an elderly veteran walking down the sidewalk. And she’d been warned about this previously.

This is a common problem around my neighborhood. E Bikes and E motorcycles as well as golf carts motoring down the walking paths and bike lanes at high speeds that will not yield to pedestrians. Local legislators are cracking down and the state is considering restrictions as well.

Here is another person who is sure to win his case if he chooses to sue. How much he would collect for his non life-threatening injuries is a good question, but I don’t doubt that he suffered some emotional trauma. My guess is that United Airlines is going to make a cash offer, so that they don’t have to go to trial.

The article says the accident occurred “causing a collision in the bike lane on Varick Street.” I wonder if it was actually on the street or on the sidewalk where the robot was photographed. So, were both the bike and robot on the sidewalk, or was the robot crossing the street and he ran into it, and then you have to ask was the robot crossing with the light, and also ask yourself if the bike rider was running the Red… Too many questions to make any judgement based on the article…

In the article it say the man had not been contacted by United. In my opinion, that was a mistake. Clearly this was an accident. Clearly this guy was REALLY lucky!

I think if United had checked up on the guy to see if he was OK that would have helped soften any legal action

I found this a lot more interesting… with all the Waymo Cabs getting stuck in a neighborhood…

On the National news, one woman complained that one of the cabs almost hit her cat… Maybe should not let her cat roam the neighborhood… And even then, when a cat runs out in front of a vehicle, any vehicle, the vehicle did not almost hit the cat, that cat almost got run over by the vehicle it ran in front of…
