Should I worry about my battery or is this some kind of “self-test”?
Check all the ground connections from the battery outward, especially the chassis ground(s)…If that checks out, have the battery load tested. Most parts stores will do that free of charge…
A lot of newer cars use gauges that are calibrated each time power is applied. They swing through the entire range and then settle at the appropriate level. This is normal.
This is a self test. It is normal operation.
This is absolutely normal operation.
I found a protocol on the internet to disable that for my tC. Perhaps there’s one out there for your G6.
