And (here in TN anyway) there is always that one idiot buying a lotto ticket that then scratches it off to see if/what they won and then either buys again or cashes in (small amount)… I am like buy it and get the F out of the way, I mean you don’t buy a candy bar and eat it at the counter then buy another one… Or worse, get up to the cashier and can’t decide which ticket to buy, like it is their 1st time, BS, pick one and go… I hate that crap , NEVER happened before TN added the lotto…
OK, rant over… lol
Similarly, on the rare occasions when I go to the bank, my transaction usually takes all of about 1 minute, but I wind-up in back of some yahoo with 6 Christmas Club accounts and a bunch of pennies that he wants to cash in, but that he didn’t place in coin wrappers.
My credit union tellers do not take coins for more than a dollar or so. They have a coin-counting machine, it spits out a receipt with the coin amount, and you take that to the teller to have it paid out in cash or deposited into your account. Non-members who use the coin-counting machine receive cash minus a percentage (10% or so) of the count. For members, it’s free…
My bank has the coin machine in the lobby. I give the grand kids a bag o accumulated coins and we go down there to run them through the machine. They get a receipt and go to a teller to get hard cash. Gets them acquainted with what a bank is.
