Thanks for your thanks. The ER is a difficult place to work, both physically and emotionally. One sees a lot of bad stuff there.
And thanks for the remiders about vaccination, although that may upset some people. They are very important and even my 5 yo granddaughter has had them. Of course, you were reminding people for their health, but this is also to protect their families and friends and even their Emergency Room staff should they be needed after a car accident!
First, another thank you - and pass that on to others in your area. We do appreciate the effort, even if we don’t say it very often!
Yeah, I don’t expect things to get better any time soon. I am hopeful by the start of the second quarter of 2022, it will start to look better, but I have been wrong before!
On a selfish note on my part, after 40 years in medicine, I am glad I am now retired.
Can not imagine how difficult the ERs and hospitals are having it now. The last hospital I worked in, the ER was essentially the walk-in clinic for the uninsured. But we had a great staff and most of the ER doctors were good. My wife had a major stroke, they got her diagnosed and treated within the golden hour, she recovered totally.
I was a patient one time, got a very surprising diagnosis, after bloodwork and cat scan, doc comes to me and says “Greg, you have appendicitis “! What? at my age? Surgery done, back to work in three days.
I felt sorry for the ER nurse mangers, salaried but not uncommon to work many hours past their shift.
