Copper versus Platinum, Iridium, all the other iums . .

Modern long life plugs have a plating on them to prevent seizing. This has not been a problem for a long time now.

OEMium is my spark plugs go-to.

Could be and it may actually work but having had my share of hard to remove plugs I prefer to spend $5 - $10 a plug with anitsieze and change them according to the OEM schedule instead of risking the cost of stripping the threads. .

Further when I recently changed the Bosch 100,000 mile Iridium plugs @ 50,000 miles on my perfectly running 2004, I noticed carbon buildup on the tip and threads and was glad I changed them,.raising the question of, “Why did I pay a premium for Iridium when the Platinum would have done just as well?”
