A little research may just disclose that the “American” cars you’re considering are in reality less made in America than the non-American cars you’re considering.
CVTs haven’t be in common use long enough for me to be comfortable with them. But I think the demands to get the absolute maximum possible gas mileage will soon cause most all vehicles to have them.
