I have a 2001 PT Cruiser. On both wheels the bushings pulled out of the control arms. I had no accident nor any indication of a problem. Is this a design problem or a fluke?
I checked for recalls or TSBs and there aren’t any that apply to this condition.
Could be a design issue or a manufacturing issue…tough to tell. Either way it should NEVER happen. Bushing to wear out, but never heard of them actually pulling out. I’ve replaced control arm bushing before. Had to take it to a machine shop to have them pressed in.
If you had no indication of a problem, how was this discovered? Is there a story here?
