I lived in Hayward and Santa Monica also, never called it San Francisco, but I can understand using San Fran as a general local. Guess I could be guilty of the same thing, say Chicago to avoid what where? Even though I am 45 miles away. My ignorant geography I thought San Jose was down by LA
I thought it was in South America (which it is). I guess not everyone is from California but luckily we have people that set things straight.
