Clicking noise from area of a wheel

Today, June 28, 2008, you advised a caller to have her brake rotor checked due to clicking sound that changes fequency with the speed of the car. What she described sounded more like the noise caused by a pebble stuck in the tire tread.

I have heard the same sound on an older car, and it went away when I pulled off the hub cap, which apparently was flexing as the wheel turned.
