Chevy Oil Cooler

Howdy,

A gentleman who rebuilds engines was informing me that chevys built 1988 and newer have an oil cooling system where the oil flows from the oil pan to the oil cooler and back to the oil pan without ever entering the oil filter. He stated that when changing the oil there is old oil still in the oil cooler that does not drain. He then went on to tell me to remove the lines, plug the holes, and go on my way. I was wondering if there was any truth to his clames or if he was blowin’ smoke.

Thank You
