2001, camaro, LS1, 6 speed manual, 81K, What are my options?
It has become nearly impossible to shift into 3rd and very difficult to go 3rd to 4th. I often skip 3rd. Can this be anything other than a rebuild?
Do you discount the possibility of this problem being related to a problem with the clutch or linkage (as little linkage as there is)?
My research indicates that this vehicle has a ‘skip shift’ solenoid that inhibits 3rd under certain conditions. The solenoid is commanded by the PCM when various parameters are met. Has this system been checked to make sure it is operating according to specification?
