"Check Engine" light on 94 Civic EX Coupe

The “check engine” light came on today right after I started my car. When I turned the car off and restarted it, the light remained off until my car was on the freeway for about 30mins. I was able to make it home without any problems. Should I worry that my engine is dying on me? Any thoughts on why it is causing this problem? The weather has been very hot and humid so I don’t know if this has something to do with it. Please help!

Go to Autozone and have them read the codes. Then tell us what the codes are.

That CEL (check engine light) is just a kid in class waving her hand trying to get you attention because she has the answer. You need to have the codes read. Some places will read them for FREE. Try Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. Get the exact code (like P0123) not just their translation into English and post it back here.

Thanks shadowfax and Joseph. I will keep you posted.
