I have a 2004 Chevy cavalier and have a problem with the temp gage getting stuck after turning off the car. It then will start measuring the temperature from the spot that it got stuck on, so now it has just about done a complete revolution. What can I do to get it back to normal? And is this a problem concerning the actual temperature of the car. It has never overheated to this point. Thanks…
Get a rad coolant temp gauge and run the engine up to operating temp and see for yourself what the reading is.
If it reads what your thermostat designates, then it doesn’t run hot .
Your problem now may be a faulty coolant temp sensor or a bad dash temp gauge. Add the possibility of a loose wire/bad ground here too.
