Cars stalls on me unexpectedly

I own a 2014 Nissan Versa.

This morning, for the second time in as many months, the car hesitated a bit and stalled on me while I was at a stop.

Each time, the radio stayed playing and all of the little symbols (check engine, etc.) lit up on the dashboard. I turned off the car, then turned it on again, and everything was fine. I drove off as if nothing had happened.

Before this year, the car had stalled only one other time, but it was like 2 or 3 years ago.

Do you know what may be causing this infrequent issue?

Battery? A sensor of some kind? The fact I’m not driving as much?

Thanks.

The stalling can be caused by a crankshaft position sensor that’s starting to fail.

I understand why all the idiot light s come on. The odd symptom is that the radio starts playing. Can anybody explain that? Does the car have an infotainment system?

He meant the radio still works after the vehicle dies . I guess he does not know that it will still play until he opens a door.

Cars vary. On my Chrysler minivan, the radio keeps playing for about 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off.

Christine’s radio started playing after she was crushed into a cube.
