I remember them making hinges but don’t remember the pot.

The pot is a bit earlier in the movie, when the workers are first being trained. Everything is saturated with machine oil, a worker puts a huge sheet of metal between the dies in an enormous press, and the press comes down and forms it into a large cooking pot. It’s a “deep draw” operation. Except for better control of the machine oils, metal stamping operations are pretty much the same as they were in that movie.
