What do Calk and xkcd have in common? Both make comedy out of technical knowledge, and Tom, Ray, and Randall all live outside of Boston, MA.
The comic xkcd.com self-describes as “A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language.”
I always expect to here this happen during a call-in! 
“My brake pedal is on the floor and I’m still going 65 mph…”
You won’t ever hear that on the show. Contrary to how Tom and Ray portray the calls, they are pre-screened and selected based on staff evaluations of what is most entertaining. Callers are contacted if they make the cut.
