Exactly right. And, I think that is what the American car companies were doing, until they saw their grave being dug. And, IMO, if they think they can get away with it again, they will try it again.
A man named Demming tried preaching quality in the 50’s. No one in the USA listened to him, too busy laughing at him. He was approached by Japanese industry leaders, who wanted to bring Japan out of its economically primitive state. That is exactly what he taught them, don’t sell anything until the quality is good. The rest is history.
