We’re in central KS and are recovering from an ice storm. My niece said that her 2005 Corolla was covered with ice, but she got the door open and started it. She said she smelled fumes like “turpentine”. Should she open the windows and let it run for a while or get it to the car dealer for diagnosis?
What did she use for a deicer to get into the door? Some of them can smell like that.
Or the exhaust could be partly clogged. But I like the de-icer idea.
The vents were probably covered and couldn’t get air and the wind was probably blowing the wrong way.
