If I could get under the car and drop the tranny out like a normal front-engine rear-drive car, that would be very attractive to me. However, this being a Fiero, it has the engine, transmission, and suspension all mounted to a sub-frame called a cradle. This whole assembly has to be dropped out the bottom of the car. The engine/trans (probably) has to be separated from the cradle. The trans separated from the engine then the whole mess in reverse to put it back together. That is beyond my experience and selection of tools. I can drop everything out (which I have done twice) but the rest is new territory to me. If this thing doesn’t stop blowing chunks, I have a complete V6 cradle to replace this one.
