Can a dealer sell a car without a title

I dunno but the paper title is just a representation of the actual records at dmv. You should be able to provide the vin to dmv and once they verify the information reprint the document. I have had no problem updating a title document.

In Minnesota, the dealer does not issue a title. They only provide a 21 day permit while the title application is submitted to dmv. DMV issues and mails the document. On a used car you submit it directly to dmv and pay th3 fee. Thats how the seller makes sure legal liability is transferred.

Here in TN, we just go down to the local county clerk and show them the registration for said vehicle and your legal ID (dl), give them $10 bucks and poof, they print a new one off for you, had to do it twice last year… lol
