Buying a Used Car Out of State?

You need to go to the DMV in your state of residence and see if they issue “transport tags” they are for just this purpose. I live in VA and was to purchase a car in CT. I went to the VA DMV told them what I wanted to do and they issued me a sticker to put in the rear window. Drove back to VA no problem and registered the car in VA. The only thing is the sticker was only good for 1 day (the day I said I would be returning) and only from where the car was to my address in VA.

Is this car still available under used car for sale at Mass?

Ah, yes.

A friend drove half way across the country some years ago to buy his dream car…a fully papered, 2-owner (he bacame the third), all original 1957 Chevy BelAire convertible. It’s one of a limited number produced with an optional trim package (that frankly does not do justice to the car). The trim package apparently did, however, include the fender skirts, which are sweet.

I rode with him in that car for about an hour’s drive, mostly highway. That car rode and ran great. The only problem was that it took seemingly forever to get it to 70 mph.

Good thinking!
