Buying a new sport sedan

I’m often surprised how inexpensive some electrical components are at Lowes and Home Depot. There’s a reason, it seems.

Industrial plugs and breakers are designed for continuous loads. Those more expensive parts should be used for EV charging.

Your water heater, dryer or oven do not run continuously for 9 hours. An EV charger might.

Long runs of wire need thicker gauge wire as well to reduce heating. Increasing one more step for high continuous loads is advised. The extra copper for those big wires adds expense.

Most homeowners and some electricians don’t understand this.

I’d sooner dig a trench than try to wrestle 4 gauge wire through a stud every 16 inches.

I’ve run 8 gauge for dual ovens 8 feet away from the breaker. what a PIA and I only had to deal with floor joists!

I would image even worse if your hous has aluminum wiring.

Oh yeah, I wouldn’t even consider using a budget circuit breaker. Even at HD they have various grades you just have to look at select the more expensive options. It is scary to think some of the cheapest versions are being used and then perhaps not properly installed.

You haven’t met my wife

I dunno. For me the shortest run would be over the studs in the basement front wall, then into the garage. The outside run would be a few feet longer but has to be routed u deer the front sidewalk/stoop, then through a brick wall.

I have a 2022 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus and I love it! Very nice cockpit, great safety and stunning looks!

Those features are not available on the base model Prius. The Prius Limited is available with heated/ventilated seats (cooled seats are not an option) and 360-degree panoramic monitor starting at $37,195. Not cheap.

Luxury car brands sell what the customer wants, and they don’t want a Toyota. They might be happy with a Lexus though and they are more expensive than a Toyota too.

You can take a wild boar to a beauty shop, no matter what you do, you are still putting lipstick on a pig.
A Prius is still a Prius no matter what you add to it.

That isn’t an excuse to not being compared to a Toyota. Car enthusiasts and several consumers still compare the less expensive brands with the luxury brands. Some stripped down entry level models from luxury brands is still comparable to fully loaded models from less expensive brands.

I was writing about what luxury car companies would do to satisfy their customers so that they will return when they want another car. The manufacturer should compare their offerings to ther luxury car offerings, look at the sales numbers, and see if there is anything they should change to gain more sales. Comparing a BMW to a Honda, Toyota, or Chevrolet won’t benefit them as much as comparing their cars to Acura, Lexus or Cadillac.

The latest Prius is quick, handles well, looks great, and can’t be beat for mpgs without a plug. So with some added features it’s even better. If that’s ‘still a Prius’ it sounds great to me!

The latest prius does offer some features that make it more of a luxury vehicle but for the prius owner in the family it’s just extra stuff she doesn’t want or need. Dad would get her a brand new one as soon as they can get their hands on one but she’s perfectly happy with the base trim 2010 Prius over the last 14yrs. I understand not everyone’s a fan of the Prius but Mom’s came with more toys than we even had on our wish list. She would never accept a car from a luxury brand even if it was the same money.
