Hi,
I got a 1992 Nissan sentra 4 door, automatic. I kind of just bought this car and am now smelling burnt rubber as soon as I go up steeper hills (the automatic shifts down) at about 65 to 70 miles.
Anyone has a clue what this could be?
thx
Look for burnt oil stains on the exhaust from the leaking engine.
I would take a look or have someone take a look at the transmission fluid. It may be bad
My 1994 Sentra does the same thing, but only if I try overdrive. The engine and exhaust heat up, I think and anything combustible stars burning off. We stay out of overdrive going up hill; I don’t think there is much to worry about, unless your oil filter is not screwed on tight. That could cause an engine fire.
