You had a full sized spare? That’s the difference. I ruined an Acura tire with about 1500 miles on it just before leaving on a 200 mile trip. Needed a tire, not someone to change it. I can change my own tire but needed a new tire at 1:00 Saturday. No dice with Acura Roadside Assistance. Took the other car instead.
Same story Friday 4:30, wanted a new tire as they only had a few thousand miles, come back Monday! Leaving Sat. am, probably not the smartest move driving 500 plus miles on a 13 year old full size spare, it worked out fine. Could have used the tire with the roofing nail in the sidewall strapped to the car carrier if needed as it was not leaking.
