Yes I feel the same way a little. Because he has the multimeter thing to check the pins (6 & 14) for me but feels it’s a waste of time. I took the car to a real shop today and the guy said my gauges were going crazy (which I I already know, that’s the reason I’m here dude) he said when he tried to hook up his scanner it wouldn’t read anything but when I take my car to O’Reilly’s or AutoZone they’re able to stick their obd and read code. Now under u0073 (can bus) again I also got 'no communication with abs)… so it seems to me that’s it’s either the module itself, the wires to the module or idk. But my mechanic swears I need to replace the whole engine harness for $1k his price
It might be time to look for an Automotive Electrical Specialty Shop, and let them do the diagnostics and repair… Here in Nashville we have one called AES that does great work… They will have the tools, wiring schematics along with ohm and voltage specs, proper testing procedures, knowledge and experience to not guess and throw parts and money at it hoping something sticks…
If your guy knows for a fact that it is bad wiring, then he will know what is wrong–an open, short to ground, resistance specs out of range or some reason for the need to replace the wiring harness, other than “me think bad, replace now”…
