Braking noise and slipping

Thank you shadowfox. We agreed that we’d start looking at most basic causes of the problem first. Pulling each wheel off and inspecting the brakes, rotor, calipers, bearings. I did a quick look myself, granted I didn’t pull the wheel off, and didn’t see any fluid, and brake fluid reservoir is full. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s not leaking.

I don’t see that. No amount of contamination on the rotor can change the rotation rate of the wheel. Am I missing something?

The non-contaminated brakes apply more friction than the contaminated side’s brakes, which could cause the non-contaminated side to lock up (as the driver will naturally step harder on the brakes when the car isn’t slowing down as it should) and would therefore kick in ABS.

It’s a long shot, I know, but so far everything about this one has been weird.
