I have a 2010 GMC Arcadia with 24000 miles. We bought the car new 12 months ago. The vehicle would not start so GMC sent a wrecker. The guy said the battery was dead and the car would not take a jump. The vehicle was checked and they could not find anything wrong. They said the battery was good.
What could be wrong? Neither my wife or the swrecker driver could get the battery to start and when the battery is dead the key will not come out of the ignition. I cannot believe that they could not find the problem.
Find a real mechanic. While fixing it might be involved, figuring what is causing your problem should not be difficult for any competent mechanic.
It was taken to the GMC dealer. The vehicle is under factory warranty. If they are not competent then who is?
Try to talk to the shop manager. If unsatisfied call the GMC zone rep and go to another dealer. Make sure you document what they tell you. Have them write it down and date it. It will document the issue under warranty and that they did not fix it. If it happens out of warranty you can hold this up as a return of the originally unfixed issue.
Thanks. I think I will visit them this week. I am not a mechanic but I understand that if the car had a battery problem and the wrecker driver said the battery was dead and would not take a jump start then something is wrong. Just because they could not find the problem doesn’t mean there is not a problem. Again, thanks. I am glad that the vehicle is under an extended warranty until 100,000 miles and 7 years.
