Battery gauge

Yesterday, when I was driving home, my check gauges light came on and dinged at me on my 99 Jeep Cherokee. The battery gauge was all the way over at the highest point. I drove home (about 2 miles max), turned the car off, and then turned it back on and everything was fine. Same thing this morning when I drove to work. Tonight after work, it wouldn’t start. It wasn’t really like the battery was dead, but like it wouldn’t quite fire. The radio was working.

Any ideas?

That usually means the battery is being overcharged. And that can mean two things. Either the battery is completely shot, or the voltage regulator in the alternator is defective.

The voltage regulator is controlled by the ECM. You could have a problem with the associated wiring or the ECM as well.
