I second Dartman here about his post in regards to no insurance co. being involved. He hit the nail on the head.
The fact that a salvage yard gave 1800 dollars for it would lead me to believe that the yard did not consider it a total at all. It’s unlikely they would give anywhere near 1800 for a total wreck.
After that info I’m convinced, at least pretty much, that you will not have a case against the dealer or the yard.

Hmmmm…Now let’s see–your attorney has you doing the investigative work yourself. He is going to fill out a “Consumer Protection” form, and submit it for you. This “Consumer Protection” form is very likely one that you, the consumer, could obtain for yourself from the state or county consumer protection office and that you could submit on your own.
So far, I don’t see what this attorney is doing that the OP couldn’t do for himself. Oh, that’s right–he’s running up a bill.
