Are these chinese tyres good? They are a bit cheaper but i am not sure of the quality since i have never bought a tyre before. I heard that chinese tyres nowadays are very good despite being cheap though they do not last as long as the expensive ones but they last long enough where the price difference actually matters. So if anyone is using these tyres or these types of tyres please let me know since i am just a student and cannot afford expensive tyres.
AS mentioned on your other thread this is mostly a US forum so the chance of anyone having experience with tires sold where ever you are is low. Don’t you have a web site that can lead you to reviews of the tires. Plus if you don’t drive a lot this small vehicle you have will not wear them out too much until you can afford better tires or even a newer vehicle.
OK . thanks to Mr. Google those things are sold here in the US but it appears they are decent on dry roads but lacking in wet or snow .
It only took a couple of minutes to read reviews on the web to convince me I would not buy them if I could get something better for a little more cost.
well, tbh, US does import a lot of chinese stuff and i was hoping it would help people like me know if chinese tyres are good. i posted this because it is relevant to the whole world and not just the US.
IMO, if the choice is whether to drive on worn-out (or bald) tires, or to buy new cheapo Chinese-made tires, then it would be preferable to buy the Chinese tires. Personally, I wouldn’t trust my life and the lives of my passengers to those tires, but everyone has different values systems.
Aren’t store-brand tires often Chinese?
I agree with the others . . .
They’re certainly better than bald tires
But I’d also prefer more expensive and better tires
I don’t know about other chains, but Mavis’s house brand tires are from China. So, a very low-rated tire chain sells low-rated tires. Not very surprising.
Consumer Reports tested 20 ultra-high performance all reason tires these were the lowest rated of the 20 tested. They have poor traction in snow, rain and ice. They are noisy and have high rolling resistance. Tread wear is poor. They aren’t even the cheapest tires tested in this category, there were 4 that cost less. The Kumho Ecsta PA51 tires cost less and had better ratings. They did rank 8th out of 20 though.
Sold and or installed many Chinese tires, they are round, black and hold air, the higher end China tires are better than their cheaper line tires, but if you are looking for a good all season wet weather tires, well a name brand with technology in the better tires is well worth it… Tires WILL make or break the ride, handling and braking of a vehicle…
How can tires break a vehicle ?
I stick with the name brands - Michelin, Pirelli, Yokohama, etc. Not worth the savings to buy potentially poor tires.
Chinese tires are a real mixed bag. Some are OK, some are awful. None are world class. So it depends on the brand. Sailun is one of the better ones.
My friend on the Caribbean Island uses them and has no problem with them.
Like others have pointed out, they’re not ideal for snowy weather. As for wet road, my friend has no issues.
But YOU are the one telling us this, not your friend
And “no problem with them” doesn’t actually mean they’re decent
Friend and I talk about cars all the time. He has a 2007 Honda accord and not only him uses this tire ( tyre ) brand, but majority of Jamaicans do.
Is this Chinese tires one of the easily obtainable brands in Jamaica?
Jamaica has no snow and very low speed limits and we have no idea where the OP is from so your glowing recommendation really means nothing . The reviews for this cheap tire would keep me from even looking at them.
Yes. And since Jamaicans don’t often have enough money to spend, the Atrezzo tires are attractive deals.
If OP is on a low budget and lives somewhere it doesn’t snow, the Atrezzo isn’t a bad thing.
With everything in life, buying cheap gets you cheap service, and most times people can’t avoid going cheap, yet cheapness doesn’t automatically mean bad.
As another poster already pointed out, Chinese-made tires are round, black, and they hold air. And I would add the fact that tires sold by a chain retailer are going to meet or exceed tire safety regulations in whatever country they are sold in. So here in the US, all tires offered for sale meet D.O.T. standards.
Are the Atrezzos in Ruritania the same?
A lttle web research seems to show that Sailun makes these Artezzo tires to different specs for different markets and countries . That means the US sold tires might not be the same ones sold in what ever country the OP is in.
