Are AI replies okay in forum threads?

Has anyone else noticed the growing frustration with low-quality AI replies flooding discussion threads(this forum is great) and comments? These replies take all of the fun of Q/As and are often useless information that isn’t relevant to the question or just flat-out wrong and just takes up space.

See only see responses from contributors.
Some might post an AI synopsis from a trusted source, but that is rare.

@aslamaqib307_192690 I know you are a recent join so you should edit your heading as profanity is not really wanted here.

Sorry for that

Concur, this forum doesn’t yet seem to be AI corrupted. I have noticed a concerning trend however, both here and the internet in general , mostly over the past few years, a tendency for websites, utube’s, etc to curb diy’er comments. Not just car related, I notice this for most any sort of diy’er related projects. I presume there’s some sort of conflict of interest.

I posted on an airliner website some original research results I got from a library about airframer profitability. You know. Real paper annual reports. They yanked the post because I had no links to a source. I tried to explain there were no links. The source was a library. I identified the source in my post like a bibliography so someone so inclined could verify. Nope. They still deleted it. So naturally all of their posts these days are just regurgitations of other news elsewhere. Thank God car talk allows original content from real people.

You actually suggested that people go the the public library!? :scream:

Yeah, that is silly. I usually provide an online source. Often when I don’t it’s because the source is behind a paywall, like my local newspaper. If it’s an AP reprint in the local paper, I’ll find the ordinal and post a link.

Our utility sold some land next to a power plant for $8 million. And buyer sold it to Amazon for $80 million. Public owned power plant. So, ratepayers lost $72 million. I think Amazon wants to build data center. For AI? Zero info on power requirements. I seem to be fine now with no AI. Why do I need it?
