Where are you going to move to? You either have to move to a place with lower home prices, or downsize to a smaller home. Our house is too big for us, but it’s paid for, nice quiet neighborhood with good neighbors. So why move? Turnover is slow here too.
That’s very common here as well. The buyer may obtain all the inspections they like, no restrictions on that, but the seller is just saying they won’t pay a single penny to fix any problem the inspector finds. Typically the wording states the buyer has the right to withdraw their offer if they don’t like the inspection reports. Unless stated otherwise, the buyer would lose their deposit though.
Well, there will always be people with growing families. What I was referring to, is people are finding ways to make do with what they have. If the inventory situation wasn’t so tight, it’s really not much different than any other time to sell/buy as long as you don’t sit in transition too long. I’ve traded at high markets before. You sell high, so you can also buy high(er).
How in the world can someone have that many FLAGGED post in just 4 days and still be a member on this forum much less still able to post???
Is it named Christine? Cause this is one of the first signs of a really bad car. As in evil.
@dhallis A little back ground is needed here for you . This thunda person may not have a Plymouth Fury . He has had at least 2 threads removed and has been Flagged a lot in a short time
Just to add to what VOLVO-V70 said, I don’t believe a word thundabutt says, including this thread, he is a complete Troll …
Welcome to the forum mickster…
Your post is a little strange especially for a 1st time poster…
Generally speaking, this forum is a car talk forum, posting about religious and or politics is frowned upon, we do get off topic a lot, but most political and religious post get flagged and removed…
Also, most on here will not appreciate being called my bro, no matter the meaning… Misspelt words, deliberate or not, will probably be corrected more so then not also… lol
So if you want members on here to take you seriously, it would probably be better to fit in rather than try to stand out with your wording, no matter if normal or not…
That is a poor way to address Mr. Triedag who is a premier academic and does not need any help being a Good person . Actaully call me bro and I will drop a wrench on your foot.
I have no idea what this is about anymore or what the good professor said that prompted the post. I did manage to rent a room from an 80 year old widow for $5 a week though in 1968. If I shoveled the sidewalk, she would let me use the garage. A corner house and it snowed a lot that year.
I have a 200 amp panel and only had a few slots left. That’s one reason I added a sub panel for the garage. Our cabin was on the rural electric grid and they threw in an electric water heater if we would go that route for hot water.
(Tim ‘‘the toolman’’ Taylor grunts) lol I literally started off by saying this is off topic. Since when is ‘‘bro’’ a negative thing to call a fellow man? This other dude who commented after you with the butterfingers droppin wrenches didnt spell ‘‘actually’’ right. Before you go correct his spelling. Anyways that’s just the name of that video. It actually has a deeper meaning to it. If you watch and apply the information you’ll understand where I’m coming from. Have a good morning yall.
Well in my world, you don’t call a professor, phd, or md bro, as a matter of respect. I also think Dave misspelled that word on purpose as he often does to make a point. I’m over 70 but I still refer to my grade school and high school tearchers as mr. /mrs/ and my college instructors as doctor or professor. I don’t call my wife doctor though except on rare occasions. I’ll try the bro on her sometime.
As an undergraduate I took a computer science class at Syracuse University called API (A Programming Language). The teacher didn’t have a college degree, but he was a retired IBM tech that was one of the architects of API. More than qualified to teach the class.
Thank you very much, I watched the video before replying to your post, how else would I have know it was a religious post ot political post… Rather I agree with the video or not is not the point…
The way you address someone on here is more of a respect thing, not a Yo my Bro thing… It was not a bro thing, it was the way you composed the sentence… And like Mr Volvo already said calling any member without knowing them can be very rude…
I am probably the lowest level member when it comes to higher education on here and can not spell for crap, but I try to respect the other members on here…
Now in real life, I call close friends my bro or brother, one of my biker friends calls me brother man, but in here it is more of a respect thing…
When I was on the faculty, I asked the service staff to call me by my first name. I didn’t want them to have to address me as professor or doctor. These people on the service staff had skills that I don’t have. I respect people that have skills I don’t have. My office door was always open and I always was happy when they would drop by and visit.
Mr.Bing you totally went left field on me. I didn’t even know the sir was even a professor. I literally tried giving him the best advice he could ever hope to hear. That any of us could hope to hear. really. By the way you look really young for 70, my pops turned 61 yesterday and you look to be in better health… Dave didn’t misspell lol it was the sir. after him with the loose fingers. I wouldn’t recommend using bro on the wife, this is a guy space, its different. Unfortunately dont know if the sir ever got to check that out, but since I know Dave seen it maybe he was the 1 it was intended for. Also yes Dave your right I know from what you wrote you got to see it, Thank you.
Mick, you are well on your way to being banned by the Moderators, posting the stuff you post is not allowed . This is Cartalk , period.
Flagged again. Please post car-related info and questions.
I like that. Shows general respect for everyone. Then of course some with a Cracker Jack degree insist on being called doctor.
I read or heard somewhere that you should never marry a guy that can’t change a tire or doesn’t stop for someone on the road. I would add, can’t run a chain saw. Then they said never marry a teacher or lawyer. lol.
When I was back in college (early '70s), I had a Physics Professor whose last name was “Hu” (he was American born Chinese …) and he was asked how to address him and he replied,
“You may call me Professor Hu, you may call me Doctor Hu, or you may call me Mister Hu, but if you want to pass this course, you will not call me “Hey Hu.” . . . .” (it make more sense if you say it aloud…).
One day we came into class and found this written on the board.
"Hu may call me Professor You, Hu may call me Doctor You, or Hu may call me Mister You, but if you want to pass this course, you will not call me “Hey You.”
When Professor Hu came in and read the board, he said, “Pretty good, huh?” and most of the class snickered. He said that he did not think that was so funny and he assigned us the next three chapters and all the problems at the end of the chapters. He said we could start the homework now and he walked out of the class, leaving us there…
No one in the class owned up to writing it and it is possible that it was written by one of the students from another of his classes…
